Nigel Amphlett

Nigel is a professional facilitator and trainer who has personally successfully delivered in the business world. He delivers on behavioural and interpersonal skills courses and workshops – he has ‘walked his talk’.

Nigel has over thirty years extensive experience (fifteen at senior management level) successfully working for and with some of Britain’s largest private and public sector retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, media, service, logistics, automotive, FMCG & financial organisations. These include Vodafone UK, Kingfisher/Superdrug, Carpetright and Sainsbury’s where he was a junior, middle and senior manager for 20 years. He held Learning & Development Manager, Management Development Manager & Resourcing Manager positions within these companies. He has won a national training award, was part of Vodafone Retail’s management board, has created HR functions from ‘greenfield’ situations and has managed teams of twenty and budgets of millions.

He became a Management Consultant in January 2002 and has been working with a wide variety of organisations such as AstraZeneca, Indutrade, Coventry University, Rolls-Royce, the Met Police, Roland UK, the United Nations (IMO), National Autistic Society, DFS, Bombardier, MBDA, Aviva, Accenture, Sony UK, Channel 4, CQI, Machine Mart, EDC,Whitbread, RBS, Interflora, Siemens, Bentley/Aston Martin, Volkswagen UK, OfWAT, NFU, K&CC College, AXA, Gardner Denver, Sika, Seven Trent Water, Gamma Telecom and Unilever.

Although Nigel is a practical and pragmatic facilitator he is also very knowledgeable and skilled in using many management models and theories including: Kouzes & Posner’s LPI, Adair’s Action Centred Leadership, Blanchard’s Situational Leadership, Belbin’s Team Types, Maslow/Herzberg/McGregor’s Motivational Theories, de Bono’s Six Thinking Hats, the GROW Coaching Model, Tuckman Team Development, MBTI, Stephen Covey 7 Habits, Thomas International, Emotional Intelligence, Cranfield Leadership Models (ZOUD & Transformational Leadership), Change Curve, Kolb Learning Cycle, Honey & Mumford’s Learning Styles, Transactional Analysis, Herons Intervention Model and Accelerated Learning.
